I am amazed that any criticism or information I've read about this film no one speaks of the character of Mark Ruffalo, Paul, the sperm donor father without knowing of the two boys who are not at all well, Joni and Laser. No one is looking at what the two protagonists, the lesbian couple formed by Annette Bening and Julianne Moore, and their two offspring make it to that character. Paul lives happily with his black girlfriend, restaurant and garden. Suddenly, her two children fall from the sky unexpected product of an anonymous sperm donation made twenty years ago. A Paul is remove things, his life is altered completely. Not only accepts the two boys as his own, also accepts the two lesbians as parents. One of them, must assume the role of women, Jules (Moore), in a crisis bed, feeling abandoned any wife, decides to try his sleeping with Paul. She likes no more, he falls.
