Hi, How are you?
Today we speak of the problem that is occurring between the Sahara and Morocco. This conflict is not something that occurred in the overnight, is something that takes up more 30.
all started when the Sahara belonged to Spain, and in the last years of Franco Morocco took the opportunity to invade the so-called "Green March." As far as Spain finished delivering the Sahara to Morocco (which invaded from the north) and in Mauritania (which invaded the south).
But in 1979, Mauritania due to poor economic situation, decided to sign peace with the Sahara. In 1991, there was a ceasefire between Morocco and the Polisario Front, and set a date for the referendum in the Sahara in February 1992 but this never took place.
The reason why you have not held, it was mainly calling Morocco voting rights for Moroccan settlers installed in the Sahara, already the majority of the population.
The renewed fighting between Morocco and the Sahara, have to start talking again of this conflict in the media, and poor living conditions of the Sahrawi in the camps in which are installed.
The entry of Moroccan installed a protest camp on the outskirts of Laayoune, provoked widespread protests and riots whose death toll is impossible to verify the absence of impartial observers.
Among these victims are some English people, because even born when the Sahara was English. In our opinion, the current English government seems not to notice much about the situation and hope to speak out the EU or the UN, while people are still dying there. We believe that it should act quickly to solve this problem once takes so long dormant without doing anything.
Here's a video where you can appreciate what is actually happening.
